    Warnings and Limits

IsoStock is a real-time record-keeping system that checks against limits. It notifies users and their RPSs when there are problems.

These limits are specific to your department and site.

    • Navigate to the Open Sources screen.
    • Select Add Open Source.
    • Set the Nuclide to one which is limited.
    • Set the reference Activity to be far greater than any limit for that nuclide.
    • Enter the rest of the details.
    • Select Submit. This will generate a pop-up for the user to acknowledge, stating which limits have been exceeded and the percentage exceeded.
    • Close the pop-up. The page will navigate to the Single Open Source screen for the newly created item.
    • Select Perform Actions.
    • Select Dispose Compound.
    • Set the Route to “Drain”.
    • Set all of the compound to be disposed by selecting the All button.
    • Select Submit. This will generate another pop-up to be acknowledged by the user.

These are the type of warning the end user will see.

This will generate a pop-up for the user to acknowledge, stating which limits have been exceeded and the percentage exceeded.

For Department RPS and Site RPO
A site overview report is displayed when the RPO/RPS logs in. The report only shows a few entries when problems are identified, colour-coded to highlight the issues.

If there are no issues, the start-up report shows all data. This can also be overridden by un-ticking the Only show problems showing all the data embedded and coloured.

After confirming this screen, warning messages are shown. These are the actual times/users who made the entries that approached/exceeded the limits. Tick them off to confirm they have been read/dealt with.

    Searching for Open Sources

In the Open Sources screen, there are three filters for finding sources.

The first filter allows the source to be filtered by availability, or by when it was received or disposed of—the second filter filters by ownership (whether that be by department or user). The final filter sets the visibility of stocks, sub-samples and in-use items in the table.

    Combining Compounds

The Combine function allows the user to take two (or more) compounds containing the same radionuclide and combine them to create a new compound.

    • Navigate to the Single Open Source screen for Example Open Source.
    • Select Perform Actions.
    • Select Combine Compounds. This opens the Combine Compounds panel.

The Combine Compounds panel contains a table of compounds to combine. Upon opening, it will initially only include the current compound, but more can be added later.

The item in the panel table will appear red. This is due to the amount of the compound being combined being unconfirmed, requiring confirmation.

    • Select the Edit button for the Example Open Source entry in the table. It appears as a pencil. This opens an additional panel to confirm the details of the compound to combine.
    • Set the Percent to 20.
    • Select Submit. This closes the additional panel.
    • Select Add Another Compound. This opens the Select Compound to Combine panel.

The Select Compound to Combine panel is split into two tables with filters. The first table displays the base compounds, while the second displays the sub-samples

    • Select Example Open Source 2 from the top table. This opens up the confirmation panel.
    • Set the Percent to 20.
    • Select Submit. This returns the user to the main Combine Compounds panel.
    • Set the New Compound as Combined Open Source.
    • Set the remaining details as required.
    • Select Submit. This creates a new Combine Transaction

The user is then navigated to the Single Open Source screen for the newly created compound. A reference is automatically assigned.

On the Single Open Source screen for a combined compound, selecting the View Parents button opens a dropdown to choose which parent open source to navigate to.

    Move Source

The Move Source option can be used to move the compound in its entirety to a new user, department, location, or any combination of these.

    • Navigate to the Single Open Source screen for Example Open Source 2.
    • Select Perform Actions.
    • Select Move Source. This opens the Move Source panel.
    • Enter details for a different location. This may be within a different department. The options available to you will depend on your organisation.
    • Select Submit.

On the Move Source panel, selecting Recent Moves allows the user to pre-fill details of a recently made move.

    Change Owner
The Change Owner action functions similarly to Move Source. However, it only allows the change of the Owner within the same department, in cases such as where the owner is no longer available.

    Adjust Contents

Compounds are frequently supplied in a slightly greater quantity than ordered. This can cause problems with record-keeping, where the system indicates there is nothing left when, in reality, some remains. Although this problem can be overcome by editing the original quantities, the most effective way to address it is to use the Adjust Contents option.

    • Navigate to the Single Open Source screen for Example Open Source.
    • Select Perform Actions.
    • Select Adjust Contents. This opens the Adjust Contents panel.
    • Set a Decrease of Quantity of 1ml.
    • Select Submit.

The Quantity Remaining of the open source will have been decreased by 1ml.

    Requesting from Other Department

There will be occasions when users would like to have part of a compound owned by another department. However, depending on security access, it is unlikely that you will dispense outside of your own department.

The Request Compound option allows you to place a request for a compound belonging to another department, and subsequently, they can dispense directly against it.

This differs from the Move Source option as the department remains the compound’s owner, and a new sub-sample is created with a unique reference code for the receiving department.

    • Navigate to the Single Open Source screen for Example Open Source.
    • Select Perform Actions. This opens the Request Compound panel.
    • Set Quantity to 2ml.
    • Enter the rest of the details as required.
    • Select Submit.

A Request transaction has been added to the Open Source Transactions table. It will be purple, and the details column states “Not dispensed”.

    • Select the Request transaction from the Open Source Transactions table. This opens the information panel for the transaction.
    • Select Dispense Request, located at the bottom of the panel. This opens the Dispense Request panel.
    • Select Submit. Upon submission, a new subsample is dispensed, and the user is navigated to the Single Open Source screen for the newly dispensed subsample.
