Enter Use of a Compound

To enter use of a compound:

• Navigate to the Single Open Source screen for the required compound –
  • Enter the Name or Reference of the compound in the Search located at the top of the page.
  • Alternatively, navigate to the Open Sources screen and select the compound. This opens the information panel for the compound. Then, select View located at the bottom of the newly opened panel.
• Select Perform Actions. Then, select Use Compound from the dropdown. This opens the Use Compound panel.
• Enter the details of the compound usage-
  • Enter the Date Recorded. This will default to the current date and time.
  • Select the Department which is using the compound. This will default to the department of the current user.
  • Select the User using the compound. This will default to the current user.
  • Select a Protocol/Licence. If protocols are in use on-site, you must select the protocol under which the compound will be used. This will default to the one used by the parent.
  • Optionally, enter a Project – this may be a project code, reference code or study number.
  • Select the Location of the compound. This will default to the location of the parent source.
  • Enter any of the following –
    • Activity required.
    • Quantity required.
    • Percent of the original compound used.
  • Alternatively, if all of the compound is being used, select All. This automatically fills the Radioactivity Details.
  • Check Allocate New Reference Code, if required. If checked, the new compound will be given a new reference, unique from the parent compound.
  • Enter a name for the New Compound. This will default to the name of the original compound.
  • Optionally, enter a Lab Workbook Number.
  • Optionally, enter a Cost.
  • Enter the Expiry Date for the compound. This will default to the expiry date of the original compound.
• Select Submit. This will check that all the entered data is valid and then check against any licences that are in place. If all is acceptable, the original compound will be updated, and a new in-use compound will be created. The user will be navigated to the Single Open Source screen for the new compound, if enabled in personal settings.
