Radiopharmacy Requests
The first step before radiopharmaceuticals are used in Nuclear Medicine is to submit the requests for them. This will usually be done the day before for Tc-99m products and in plenty of time for ordering externally supplied items.
- Open the menu and then select the Nuclear Medicine button in the navigation bar, if not already highlighted.
- Within the menu, select the Radiopharmacy Requests menu option. This opens the Radiopharmacy Requests screen.
There are multiple forms of request that can be made.
Enter a Pot Request
A pot request can be described as a number of doses and/or approximate activity.
- Select the Add Request, which is located at the top of the screen, opening a dropdown menu.
- Select Enter a Pot Request. This opens the Add Pot Request panel.
- Select the department the request is a Requirement For.
- Enter the date and time it was Requested On.
- Select the user the radiopharmaceutical was Requested By.
- Enter the Investigation Date. Preconfigured times can be selected via the triple dots button.
- Select the ARSAC Investigation. These will have been preconfigured upon setup for your system. This will also prefill the read-only sections, and (if configured) the Pharmaceutical.
- If required, change the Pharmaceutical by selecting the dropdown.
- Optionally, enter any Comments to be added to the request.
- Enter the number of Expected Doses.
- Optionally, enter the Activity Requested.
- Enter how much Extra To Manufacture. This is the additional product requested to allow for leeway in administering the radiopharmaceutical.
- Optionally, enter the Quantity.
- Select Submit at the bottom of the panel to confirm the request.
Enter a Multi-Dose Request
- Select the Add Request, which is located at the top of the screen, opening a dropdown menu.
- Select Enter a Multi-Dose Request. This opens the Add Multi-Dose Request panel.
- Select the department the request is a Requirement For.
- Enter the date and time it was Requested On.
- Select the user the radiopharmaceutical was Requested By.
- Enter the Investigation Date.
- Select the Radionuclide.
- Select the Pharmaceutical.
- Optionally, enter any Comments to be added to the request.
- Select Add Doses. This opens the Add Doses pop-up.
- If required, uncheck the Use Requirement Date option.
- Select an Investigation from the dropdown, or select Other Clinical.
- Enter the Activity of the dose.
- Either select the time each dose should be administered, or enter the number of doses to be administered at each time.
- Repeat the prior step for additional doses of a different activity.
- Enter the Activity Requested.
- Enter how much Extra To Manufacture.
- Enter the Quantity.
- Select Submit at the bottom of the panel to confirm the request.
Adding Single Dose Requests
You can also add single doses needed for individual patients.
- Select the Add Request, which is located at the top of the screen, opening a dropdown menu.
- Select Enter a Single Dose Request. This opens the Add Single Dose Request panel.
- Select the department the request is a Requirement For.
- Enter the date and time it was Requested On.
- Select the user the radiopharmaceutical was Requested By.
- Select the ARSAC Investigation. This will prefill the read-only sections, and (if configured) the Product Type.
- If required, select the Product Type.
- Enter the Investigation Date.
- If required, change the Pharmaceutical by selecting the dropdown.
- Optionally, enter any Comments to be added to the request.
- Enter how much Extra To Manufacture.
- Enter the Quantity.
- Select Submit at the bottom of the panel to confirm the request.
