Accumulated Waste / Decay Store

    The Accumulated Waste / Decay Store page displays a list of long-term waste items, and provides functions for managing long-term waste, preparing consignments, and disposing of waste containers. It also allows the selection of multiple waste items for consignment.

    Data

    The data can be filtered via several dropdowns at the top of the page.

    All waste on-siteall long-term waste that is currently on-site
    Close to time limitall long-term waste that is currently within the set warning percentage of the limit
    Within days of limitall long-term waste that is currently within an input number of days of the limit
    Being held inall long-term waste currently within a selected location
    Of typeall long-term waste of a selected type
    Not on consignmentall long-term waste that is not consigned
    Containing radionuclideall long-term waste that contains selected nuclide
    Disposed of duringall long-term waste that was disposed of during an input period
    Searchsearch by input reference

    There is an additional dropdown that allows the user to change the displayed unit.

    Quick Create Container

    This option can be used to enter the details of a container brought to the decay store, that has not previously had contents recorded on IsoStock.

    This usually occurs when there is some generic waste, or contaminated wipes, gloves etc. that aren’t attributed to a single open source. Under normal use, container contents are recorded during the day-to-day work with the compounds.

    The option records several transactions during a single entry.

    • New container

    The information that needs to be entered:

    Typecontainer/waste type
    Departmentdepartment the waste came from
    Created byuser recording the waste
    Date created/timedate/time the container was measured
    Came fromlocation and optional store it originated from
    Containsprimary radionuclide in the waste
    Meterwhich meter was used to measure / or manual
    Background/countreading from meter in cps

    Split acrossnumber of containers (for multi-container waste)
    In decay storelocation and optional store that it will be placed in
    Date moved/timedate/time the container was moved to the waste store

    The waste container will be allocated a reference code.

    Select All

    Select all the selectable (non-consigned) items in the table.

    Create Consignment

    Allows the user to create a waste consignment to record that waste will be leaving the site by a specified means.

    The user can highlight a number of containers to include in the consignment and then will record:

    Consignment Reference*the unique consignment reference, generated on creation
    Date Preparedwhen the consignment was prepared
    Prepared Bywho prepared it
    This consignment has been sent / disposed ofindicate whether the waste has been disposed of (ticked) or just prepared (un-ticked)
    Sent Onwhen it was sent / disposed of
    Sent Bywho finally sent / disposed of it
    To Be Sent Ondate/time of intended disposal
    Disposal Routethe disposal route or company
    Company Name*the name of the disposal company
    Address*address of the company
    Contactwaste contractors contact name
    Referencewaste contractors reference code
    Notesfree text notes for the consignment

    Transfer To Another Container

    Transfers the selected items into another container.

    This opens the Transfer To Another Container panel.

    Items being transferred must be sealed.

    View Decay Table

    Opens the decay table panel. This panel allows the user to view the activity decay of the selected items, either from the current date, or from the first date in the decay store.

    Clear Selection

    Unselects all currently selected items in the table.

    Export

    Exports the current table and data as a .xlsx file.

    Below is a glossary of fields used by the table and panel.

    First Item Added Onthe time of the first item placed in this container
    Last Item Added Onthe time of the last item placed in this container
    Departmentthe department which owns the container
    Locationthe location of the waste within the department
    Kept Inthe full current location of the waste
    Last Location Checkthe time of the last waste location check
    In Waste Storewhether the item is currently in a waste store
    Days In Storethe number of days item has been in waste store
    Sealed Onthe date and time the item was sealed
    Sealed Bythe user that sealed the item
    Sealed Entered Bythe user and time that logged the sealing
    Has Been Collectedwhether the container was collected rather than moved/created directly in waste store
    Moved To Decay Store / Created Bythe date and time the item was moved/collected
    Moved To Decay Store / Created Onthe user that moved/collected the item
    Move Tothe location the item was taken to on move/collection
    Move/Collection Entered bythe user and time that logged the move/collection
    Requested Collection Onthe date and time the collection request was made

    Dose Rate Recorded Bythe user that recorded the dose rate

    Disposed Onthe date and time the item was disposed
    Disposed Bythe user that disposed the item

    Ideal Disposal Activitythe activity level below which waste is ready for disposal

    Table

    The table displays data in accordance to the filters.

    Stored/Decayingthe waste item is in the decay store
    Not Sealedthe waste item is not sealed
    Consignmentthe waste item is currently in a consignment
    Disposedthe waste item has been disposed
    Close To Limitthe waste item is within the warning limit
    Over Limitthe waste item is over the limit
    Due For Disposalthe waste item is due for disposal
    Below Ideal Activitythe activity level of the waste item is below which the waste is ready for disposal

    Each table item has a checkbox, which can be selected if the long-term waste item is not on consignment. Multiple items can be checked simultaneously.

    Clicking on an item elsewhere on the table opens up a panel displaying further details about the item.

    Panel

    The panel displays more details about the selected item.

    At the bottom of the panel are a number of buttons.

    View Container

    Navigates to the Single Waste Container screen for the selected item.

    Create Consignment

    Delete Container

    Allows the user to delete an unused waste container. It is not possible to delete a container that contains any waste.
