Accumulated Waste / Decay Store

The Accumulated Waste / Decay Store page displays a list of long-term waste items, and provides functions for managing long-term waste, preparing consignments, and disposing of waste containers. It also allows the selection of multiple waste items for consignment.

Data

The data can be filtered via several dropdowns at the top of the page.

All waste on-site	all long-term waste that is currently on-site
Close to time limit	all long-term waste that is currently within the set warning percentage of the limit
Within days of limit	all long-term waste that is currently within an input number of days of the limit
Being held in	all long-term waste currently within a selected location
Of type	all long-term waste of a selected type
Not on consignment	all long-term waste that is not consigned
Containing radionuclide	all long-term waste that contains selected nuclide
Disposed of during	all long-term waste that was disposed of during an input period
Search	search by input reference

There is an additional dropdown that allows the user to change the displayed unit.

Quick Create Container

This option can be used to enter the details of a container brought to the decay store, that has not previously had contents recorded on IsoStock.

This usually occurs when there is some generic waste, or contaminated wipes, gloves etc. that aren’t attributed to a single open source. Under normal use, container contents are recorded during the day-to-day work with the compounds.

The option records several transactions during a single entry.

• Count via meter
• Manually adjust contents
• Seal container
• Move to decay store

The information that needs to be entered:

Type	container/waste type
Department	department the waste came from
Created by	user recording the waste
Date created/time	date/time the container was measured
Came from	location and optional store it originated from
Contains	primary radionuclide in the waste
Meter	which meter was used to measure / or manual
Background/count	reading from meter in cps
Activity	calculated or manual total activity
Split across	number of containers (for multi-container waste)
In decay store	location and optional store that it will be placed in
Date moved/time	date/time the container was moved to the waste store
Volume	manual override of default volume
Weight	manual override of default weight
Automatically print label	label template to print

The waste container will be allocated a reference code.

Select All

Select all the selectable (non-consigned) items in the table.

Create Consignment

Allows the user to create a waste consignment to record that waste will be leaving the site by a specified means.

The user can highlight a number of containers to include in the consignment and then will record:

Consignment Reference*	the unique consignment reference, generated on creation
Date Prepared	when the consignment was prepared
Prepared By	who prepared it
This consignment has been sent / disposed of	indicate whether the waste has been disposed of (ticked) or just prepared (un-ticked)
Sent On	when it was sent / disposed of
Sent By	who finally sent / disposed of it
To Be Sent On	date/time of intended disposal
Disposal Route	the disposal route or company
Company Name*	the name of the disposal company
Address*	address of the company
Contact	waste contractors contact name
Reference	waste contractors reference code
Notes	free text notes for the consignment

Transfer To Another Container

Transfers the selected items into another container.

This opens the Transfer To Another Container panel.

Items being transferred must be sealed.

View Decay Table

Opens the decay table panel. This panel allows the user to view the activity decay of the selected items, either from the current date, or from the first date in the decay store.

Clear Selection

Unselects all currently selected items in the table.

Export

Exports the current table and data as a .xlsx file.

Fields

Below is a glossary of fields used by the table and panel.

Reference	the unique identifier for the waste container
Container Type	the waste container type
Waste Type	the waste type if it was converted
Created By	the user that created the container
Start Date (Date Created)	the date the container was first used
Container Weight	the weight of the container
Container Size	the size of the container
Number of Containers	the number of containers in set
Received From	the site/supplier of the waste if external
Contains	the list of radionuclides it contains
Current Activity	the total activity of the waste item
Contains Further Hazards	whether this container has other non-radioactive hazards
First Item Added On	the time of the first item placed in this container
Last Item Added On	the time of the last item placed in this container
Department	the department which owns the container
Location	the location of the waste within the department
Kept In	the full current location of the waste
Last Location Check	the time of the last waste location check
In Waste Store	whether the item is currently in a waste store
Days In Store	the number of days item has been in waste store
Sealed On	the date and time the item was sealed
Sealed By	the user that sealed the item
Sealed Entered By	the user and time that logged the sealing
Has Been Collected	whether the container was collected rather than moved/created directly in waste store
Moved To Decay Store / Created By	the date and time the item was moved/collected
Moved To Decay Store / Created On	the user that moved/collected the item
Move To	the location the item was taken to on move/collection
Move/Collection Entered by	the user and time that logged the move/collection
Requested Collection On	the date and time the collection request was made
Requested Collection By	the user that requested the collection
Collection From Location	the location of the waste for collection
Collection Request Entered By	the user and time that logged the collection request
Dose Rate	the dose rate
Dose Rate Recorded By	the user that recorded the dose rate
Dose Rate Recorded On	the date and time the dose rate was recorded
Dose Rate Entered On	the user and time that logged the dose rate
Disposed On	the date and time the item was disposed
Disposed By	the user that disposed the item
Disposed	the details of the disposal
Ideal Disposal Activity	the activity level below which waste is ready for disposal
Ideal Disposal Date	the date when the activity is estimated to be ideal disposal activity
Notes	free text notes

Table

The table displays data in accordance to the filters.

Stored/Decaying	the waste item is in the decay store
Not Sealed	the waste item is not sealed
Consignment	the waste item is currently in a consignment
Disposed	the waste item has been disposed
Close To Limit	the waste item is within the warning limit
Over Limit	the waste item is over the limit
Due For Disposal	the waste item is due for disposal
Below Ideal Activity	the activity level of the waste item is below which the waste is ready for disposal

Each table item has a checkbox, which can be selected if the long-term waste item is not on consignment. Multiple items can be checked simultaneously.

Clicking on an item elsewhere on the table opens up a panel displaying further details about the item.

Panel

The panel displays more details about the selected item.

At the bottom of the panel are a number of buttons.

View Container

Navigates to the Single Waste Container screen for the selected item.

Create Consignment

Delete Container

Allows the user to delete an unused waste container. It is not possible to delete a container that contains any waste.
