Department Waste

    The Department Waste page displays a list of waste items, and provides functions for the user to handle waste at a department level.

    This screen can be navigated to by –

    • Selecting the Waste tab in the menu.
    • Selecting Department Waste, under the Waste section.

    Filters

    The data can be filtered via several dropdowns at the top of the page.

    For my departmentall waste belonging to any of the current user’s departments
    Due for collection/disposalall waste that has reached the maximum department holding time for that waste type
    Approaching time limitall waste that is approaching the licenced time limit for that waste type / radionuclide
    For departmentall waste belonging to the selected department
    All wasteall waste containers (within departments)
    Searchsearch by input reference

    Create Container

    Opens the Create Container form panel. The panel allows you to create a waste container item.

    Export

    Exports the current table and data as a .xlsx file.

    Fields

    Below is a glossary of fields used by the table and panel.

    Referencethe unique identifier for the waste
    Container Typethe type of container
    Waste Typethe type of waste
    Created Bythe user who created the waste
    Start Date (Date Created)the date the container was first used
    Daysthe age of the container
    Container Weightthe weight of the container
    Container Sizethe size of the container
    Number of Containersthe number of containers in set
    Received Fromthe site/supplier of the waste if external
    Containsthe list of radionuclides it contains
    Current Activitythe total activity of the waste item
    Contains Further Hazardswhether this container has other non-radioactive hazards
    First Item Added Onthe time of the first item placed in this container
    Last Item Added Onthe time of the last item placed in this container
    Departmentthe department which owns the container
    Locationthe location of the waste within the department
    Kept Inthe full current location of the waste
    Last Location Checkthe time of the last waste location check
    Sealedwhether the container is sealed to prevent being used for further waste
    Sealed Onthe date and time the item was sealed
    Sealed Bythe user that sealed the item
    Sealed Entered Bythe user and time that logged the sealing
    Requested Collection Onthe date and time the collection request was made
    Requested Collection Bythe user that requested the collection
    Collection From Locationthe location of the waste for collection
    Collection Request Entered Bythe user and time that logged the collection request
    Dose Ratethe dose rate
    Dose Rate Recorded Bythe user that recorded the dose rate
    Dose Rate Recorded Onthe date and time the dose rate was recorded
    Dose Rate Entered Bythe user and time that logged the dose rate
    Disposed Bythe user that disposed the item
    Disposed Onthe date and time the item was disposed
    Disposedthe details of the disposal

    Table

    The table displays data in accordance to the filters.

    Waste Item status is indicated by colour according to the legend.

    Open In Departmentwaste is open and in department
    Sealedwaste has been sealed
    Requested Collectioncollection for waste has been requested
    Disposedwaste has been disposed
    Due For Movingwaste is due for moving
    Close To Limitwaste activity is close to limit
    Over Limitwaste activity is over limit

    Clicking on an item on the table opens up an information panel displaying further details about the item.

    Panel

    The panel displays more details about the selected item.

    At the bottom of the panel are a number of buttons.

    View Container

    Navigates to Single Waste Container screen for the selected item.

    Seal

    Allows the user to mark the container as sealed so that it can no longer be used for further waste.

    This opens the Seal Container form panel.

    Edit Seal

    Allows the user to edit the details regarding the sealing of the container.

    This opens the Edit Seal form panel.

    Delete Seal

    Allows the user to unseal the container.

    This opens the Delete Seal audit panel.

    Request Collection

    Allows the user to request that the container is collected. If the container is not already sealed, requesting collection will mark the container as sealed at the same time.

    This opens the Request Collection form panel.

    Edit Collection Request

    Allows the user to edit the collection request.

    This opens up the Edit Collection Request form panel.

    Delete Collection Request

    Allows the user to delete the collection request.

    This opens up the Delete Collection Request form panel.

    Move to Decay Store

    Allows the user to move a container directly to the decay store without using the collection functions.

    This opens up the Move to Decay Store form panel.

    Edit Container

    Allows the user to edit the details of the selected waste container.

    This opens the Edit Container panel. It is identical in operation to the Create Waste Container panel

    Copy to Clipboard

    The details of the selected container can be copied to the clipboard. The format/layout and fields can be defined within the setup.

    Prints a label for the selected container. Label formats can be configured within the setup.

    Delete Container

    Allows the user to delete an unused waste container.

    This opens up the Delete Container audit panel.

    You cannot delete a container if it contains any waste.
